Understated and slightly unfinished, our handmade kippah's are crafted using Alexander Girard's timeless "toostripe" fabric design. This fabric was exclusive to Herman Miller's upholstery in the mid 60's and serves as the perfect weight and density for a kippah that rests flat and snug on the head. The edges of each yarmulke are left slightly unfinished, giving it a wabi sabi look that prevents the kippah from popping up when wearing.
Design credit is due to friend of JST Lizz Wasserman's mother Caren Connolly. Her homemade kippah's were the inspiration for these pieces.
